December 2022: Konga Reriti Te Rūnanganui o Te Āti Awa Kaumatua performed the cultural blessing with his usual charm and humour reciting karakia, and waiata in Te Reo acknowledging the history of the area and previous generations. He also touched on the Te Ati Awa/ Kāinga Ora Memorandum of Understating and how valued our relationship is, and his appreciation and involvement having attended a number of blessing during 2022. He shared his appreciation to Kāinga Ora and the build partners for the mahi  providing these quality whare for whānau across Lower Hutt.  The Blessing was attended by the build partner TradeMark, Kāinga Ora staff and neighbours.
