Support for customers impacted by a Natural Disaster
We continue to support our customers whose homes were damaged during the January floods and Cyclone Gabrielle.
We are rehousing all our customers who are unable to return to their homes because of flood damage, and working quickly to plan and prioritise repairs. However, this process will take some time.
Work we’re focussing on
Planning and scoping repair of damaged homes
Most of the Kāinga Ora homes damaged are safe to occupy. For the remaining homes, customers are being offered rehousing, or where it makes sense, are staying put while repairs are planned and carried out.
For homes with less extensive damage, repair scoping has already been completed and repairs will begin soon. For more extensive or complicated damage, our maintenance partners are doing detailed scoping of the damage and planning how and when to carry out repairs – especially where the customers may need to temporarily stay somewhere else as repair work is carried out.
Support for customers
We continue to support our customers whose homes have been damaged in the floods. Since the floods, we’ve connected with our customers to check they’re OK, and worked to connect them with support services. We’re regularly keeping our customers updated as we work our way through the repairs.
If customers need to get in touch with us, they can do this by calling us on 0800 801 601 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
